The Fury of Mauch Chunk

The first book I ever published.
About 15 years ago, we went to upstate Pennsylvania to attend a visual storytelling workshop with Marshall Arisman, godfather of visual storytelling at SVA in NYC. I talked about this some in yesterday's post. It was a terrific experience, one that I have longed to repeat ever since. It was a week of talking about image-making and how to use that capacity to form a narrative.
While I struggled some with trying to hard to render finished work during the week, The Fury of Mauch Chunk was a high point for me. It is about man's interaction with nature there in the valley and how they grew too fast and too careless until the town caught fire and burned out the entire village.
