Adoring God is easiest upon awakening. I hold a hint of wonder because hope has not yet been stilled by other people and the events of the day.
I read the Gospel this morning:
“Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward….”
-Matt. 10:40-41a (NRSVue, CE)
A crow caws twice, loudly, immediately outside, the reward of the prophets.
God, give me enough sense of your power and life acting in the fabric of this world that I may lean into it with confidence and trust.
