Adoring God is easiest upon awakening. I hold a hint of wonder because hope has not yet been stilled by other people and the events of the day.
I read the Gospel this morning:
‘To receive you is to receive me, and to receive me is to receive the One who sent me. Whoever receives a prophet because he is a prophet will be given a prophet’s reward….’
-Matt. 10:40-41a (REB)
A crow caws twice, loudly, immediately outside, the reward of the prophets.
God, give me enough sense of your power and life acting in the fabric of this world that I may lean into it with confidence and trust.
