We must not grasp for what comes from above; we must only receive. For good and for ill.
The Council seizes the apostles to flog them and forbid their teaching (Acts 5:35-42). Conversely, those whom Jesus fed wished “to come and take him by force to make him king….” (John 6:15 NRSVue, CE)
Either way, the impulse of the disordered soul is to grab Spirit and bend it to the will. To control its movement or to harness its power. That impulse is from the Enemy of our human nature.
The impulse from the Lord receives the Spirit in the soul and there allows it to shape the will.
That is the difference between Folly and Wisdom. You will know each spirit by its fruit.
