Why do we have to detach ourselves from the goods of this world? Are the things of this world really to be despised? Things are not worthy of disdain in themselves, but they are for us the occasion of sin. It is because riches and pleasures make us fall into sin that we have to be detached from them. Unfortunately, all of the goods of the earth draw us toward sin, because of the malice which is in us. That is why we need spiritual asceticism.

* 19:45 – listening to relaxing music & reading until bedtime
