In this blog, I will let you know about DuckDuckGo recent decision to start censoring file sharing sites and command line programs to download youtube videos. It’s time to find another private search engine and stick to it. I will help you narrow down the best and safe private search engine for your needs. Just like the Ctemplar blog. For the people that want to self-host your own private search engine, I recommend Searx or the fork SearxNG, This isn’t actually a search engine though, It’s a meta search engine which scrapes all the other search engines like google, bing, etc. For the people that want a actually private search engine, I like Startpage, It has nice UI/UX, Anonymous View, Proxying Images, Doesn’t store logs or any data about you. And it also has a Private Email & Extension. Which the extension is open-souce if you ask them for it. I currently have the source code and i can tell you their extension is legit and so far so good. I recommend to install the extension to further your privacy.
