Daily Haiku prompt Apr 30-May 9, 2024
Haiku series #11
I write one haiku per day from prompts.
You can follow me on Mastodon for your daily dose of haiku.
Apr 30, 2024 – passing Spring
Just out of the nest
Fledglings are taking flight. Spring
Has come and gone by
May 1, 2024 – young grass
Clouds suddenly burst
Into Spring showers. Young grass
Growing through the tears
May 2, 2024 – South wind
Riding the South wind
I hear the Summer hush. Storm
Will soon reach the shore
May 3, 2024 – meadow
The soft light of dawn
Rising over the meadow
Flowers pearled in dew
May 4, 2024 – rainbow
Sun and rain embrace
In elusive illusion
Evanescent shine
May 5, 2024 – children
Make-believe babbles
Secrets of a thousand worlds
Great childhood wisdom
May 6, 2024 – green reeds
Symphony of birds
Sheltered in the marshes. Sway
To the green reeds' song
May 7, 2024 – ants
An ants' colony
Took over my brain. I write
But everything's bland
May 8, 2024 – new tea
Dormant winter ends
Sunlit tea buds wake. Mountains
Filled with harmony
May 9, 2024 – lily
Red spider lily
Guardian of the dead. Guiding
Our soul to the shore
