some of my thoughts and notes

Alicante

Alicante impressed me with its steep hill and huge apartment buildings in front of it.

Interestingly, even though I had set Alicante as my rough final destination just three weeks ago, now it was hard for me to feel like I arrived. It felt more like a quick pitstop, another city checked off.

Similarly, just three weeks ago it was easy to imagine myself traveling alone, but now that I'm expecting to meet you, it seems impossible to fully enjoy traveling alone. I enjoyed the views, but it didn't feel fully right to sit there.
The longing to meet you was gone, but now it's back.

In the evening I decided to eat a bit in a restaurant called Welcome India. For some reason, I was the only one who wanted to sit outside.

Afterwards I drove to an urbanization south of Alicante to visit Quino and his two sons.

At first I felt strange passing the entrance gate to the community and then walking into their open front door, but it didn't take long for me to feel completely at home.
