What I miss from write.as
I think I signed up for write.as about a year ago.
I like it a lot, for these reasons and probably more:
- open source
- hosted version available at a reasonable price
- just works
- somewhat integrated with activitypub
but here are some things I think I miss:
- comments (I see a number of issues here though)
- it says I have a number of followers from the Fediverse but there is no way to see who they are
- the admin system is somewhat slow
- page statistics is somewhat limited
- the system to include external Javascript is somewhat coarse-grained and under-documented
- while I enjoy a certain amount of quirkyness and think my blog certainly isn't too slick or polished, read.write.as could benefit from some more mainstream content ;–)
