A Parkinson's recovery journey

“Let the divinity within you do it”

“You are never alone or helpless. The force that guides the stars, guides you too.”
~ Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

I recently exchanged a couple of emails with JH. My main question for her was essentially, “I've been stuck back on pause for many months now. What might be the problem?” JH offered several ideas to help with identifying and/or overcoming the problem. Here I want to highlight (with permission) just three comments, as together I see them offering one particular path to pursue. Here are those comments:

“imagine that you are a famous inspirational speaker and brilliant mental therapist. what would you advise yourself to do. remember...your higher consciousness can literally re-wire your brain to help you be the person you want to be. or you can be attitudinally unchanged for lifetimes.”

That was followed by...

“just keep this in mind: how would God fix this problem. and then do that.”

And that in turn was followed by...

“and to quote Jesus, 'Do not your scriptures say ye are gods?'
let the divinity within you do it.”

I think together those comments offer a kind of continuum along with which we might find ways to let our Friend or our higher consciousness or God, if you prefer, support and do the heavy lifting for us. To my mind they point, in part, to the power of surrender. So I am currently reinvigorating my emphasis on this important part of the JH practice. I expect this will help me develop more fluency in making, keeping, and benefiting from the intentional connection with something larger than myself.
