Author Spotlight: Chace Verity and Quirky Romances
With Valentine's Day here, Chace Verity (they/them) loves to talk about one of their quirky queer paranormal romances, Match with the Demon. The novella begins on Valentine's Day with a single dad accidentally matching with a demon on a dating app. Despite getting a little catfished, Harrison Hamilton is more than willing to keep seeing the alluring Lazlo as they both journey to learn what makes each other happy.
Match with the Demon is part of Chace Verity's Loved by the Demon series. This series is set in Calgary, Alberta, a part of Canada that is underrepresented in Canadian romance. There are five novellas so far, all featuring queer leads, and the surface of the oddities Calgary can have has barely been scratched.
An American citizen and a Canadian permanent resident currently undergoing the citizenship process (fingers crossed, everyone!), Chace Verity has a range of romances in multiple subgenres and features works set both in America and Canada—and some worlds that are entirely fictional. Their most recent published work, Clara, Darling, is a sapphic paranormal romance set in 1932 New York City.
Last year, Chace Verity took a break from fiction and immersed themself in a satisfying non-fiction project to solve the mystery behind a 1930s Hollywood actor's death. Ace of Cads: The Monroe Owsley Story is published under the pen name of Chase Lloyd.
Chace's current work in progress is a full-length historical m/m romance set in 1946 Los Angeles. While they have no idea when it'll be published, interested readers can check out Lucky Charm, a novella set in 1929 Los Angeles with two characters who'll have a connection to the upcoming novel.
All of Chace Verity's works can be found on their website along with important information, like content notes and queer representation in each work. Check it out!
Have a happy Valentine's Day!
